Graduation Ends With a Bang!

Fireworks illuminate the night skySummer training has concluded at ACADIA. For the cadets on parade, the final graduation marked the completion of their courses and was a celebration of their hard work and dedication. The parade was followed by a band display, featuring Victoria and Okanagan playing an arrangement of ‘Wavin’ Flag’ by K’Naan. The closing Ceremony of the Flags and Sunset for the summer took place on the parade square and was followed by a brilliant fireworks display. Bravo Zulu graduating cadets!

Camp Lessons: Learning to be Better Canadians

Sail cadets can 'trapeeze' at high winds and speedsThe parade square is empty, the drill halls are silent, and the sails are packed away for storage. The summer training has ended at HMCS ACADIA and the cadets and staff are beginning to make their way home. After two, three, and six weeks of camp, ACADIA’s cadets not only learned and succeeded in their summer course materials, but attained crucial positive values and characteristics for which the cadet program is known. So, what are these values and characteristics, and how do cadets gain them?
