Executive Officer - Lieutenant-Commander E.M. (Eric) Carberry, MMM, CD  

LCdr CarberryLieutenant-Commander Carberry was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. He enrolled in the Canadian Forces in January 1976 as a Radar Plotter.

He served as a Radar Plotter until 1985 when, after the Maritime Other Ranks Production Study, he became a Naval Electronics Technician. Lieutenant-Commander Carberry served in Her Majesty’s Canadian Ships, ANNAPOLIS, NIPIGON, GATINEAU, and IROQUOIS. In 2001, then Chief Petty Officer First Class Carberry served as Coxswain in HMCS IROQUOIS where he deployed to the Persian Gulf on Operation APOLLO.

His shore postings included Automatic Data Link Plotting System (ADLIPS) Instructor at the Naval Electronics School, Senior Instructor for ADLIPS Training, Maritime Command Headquarters, Second Language Training at Canadian Forces Base Shearwater, Trials Officer at Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Scott and Unit Chief Petty Officer for Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Scott.

In June 2005, Lieutenant-Commander Carberry was appointed Base Chief Petty Officer for Canadian Forces Base Halifax and held this position until July 2006 when he was appointed Formation Chief Petty Officer for Maritime Forces Atlantic. He remained in this position until July 2009 when he was commissioned to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander, under the Special Requirements Commissioning Program, and appointed Executive Officer of the Regional Cadet Support Unit (Atlantic).

Lieutenant-Commander Carberry was invested as a Member of the Order of Military Merit in 1996.
